Wondering...

This morning on Scarborough, Chris Matthews said:
"Let’s not forget and I’ll be brutal, the reason [Hillary Clinton] is a U.S. Senator, the reason she’s a candidate for president, the reason she may be a frontrunner is her husband messed around. That’s how she became Senator from New York. She didn’t win there on the merits."

My question: could Chris Matthews get away with saying the same thing about his colleague, Mrs. Greenspan? About any of his female co-workers? Would he say it about his daughter? His wife? His sister? His mother?

Could you get away with saying something like this about a female colleague?

Just wondering.
